Introducing the Leica iCON MC1 3D Avoidance Zone Solution, a seamless integration of the Leica iCON MC1 machine control and the Xwatch safety system, resulting in a complete 3D avoidance system that significantly enhances on-site safety.

With this innovative solution, users can establish 3D avoidance zones to safeguard assets located alongside, above, or below the construction site during ongoing work.

When approaching an avoidance zone, the system takes control of the machine's height and slew movements, ensuring the machine avoids entering no-go areas. The hydraulic control is proportional, offering a gradual speed ramp down before coming to a complete stop. The Leica MC1 software triggers a visual warning that needs acknowledgment before resuming operation, ensuring heightened safety precautions.

Key Features of the 3D Avoidance Zone Solution:

Import or Create 3D Avoidance Zones: Users have the flexibility to either import or create 3D avoidance zones within the Leica iCON MC1 software.
Protection Around Assets: Avoidance zones can be precisely defined around critical assets requiring protection, such as nearby buildings, road and rail corridors, overhead hazards, and underground services.
Virtual Wall Creation: The system allows the establishment of a virtual wall offset from a structure, providing an extra safety buffer, e.g., 2 meters from a rail corridor boundary.
Customizable Alert Distance: Operators can set a specific distance to trigger an alert notifying them, for instance, 1 meter from a virtual wall, ensuring timely warnings.
Operator-Controlled Avoidance Zones: Operators have the flexibility to log points and establish their avoidance zones using the excavator bucket directly.
Seamless Integration with 3D Project Files: Operators can easily select and set avoidance zones directly from their 3D project files, streamlining the process.
Underground Detection Model: Underground avoidance zones can be precisely defined based on underground detection model files.

The Leica iCON MC1 machine control system, an All-In-One Solution, combines intelligent hardware and software, including the MCP80 Panel and MC1 Software, into a single platform that works across all types of machines. The system guides operators using reference models and GNSS in 3D, displaying designs and real-time cut/fill indications on the MCP80 Control panel. This facilitates rapid excavation according to design, significantly enhancing operational efficiency for operators.

The Xwatch safety system, available in XW4 or XW5 models, creates a secure working envelope around the machine and operator, enabling precise control of the machine's height, slew, and rated capacity indications. It offers feather-touch proportional hydraulic control to restrict the machine's height and left/right slew parameters, ensuring utmost safety for the operator, immediate vicinity, and the machine.
