Riegl VZ-400i Scanner
Flexible Applications.
Can be used for a variety of applications including Mining, Heritage, Carbon Capture, Forestry, Research, Coastal Erosion, and the list goes on…
Onboard Registration
The Riegl VZ 400i has dual CPU’s, thus enabling the scanner to perform real time onboard registration. To perform such a task this scanner registers scans together in parallel while performing its scanning duties, utilising its orientation sensor (MEMS IMU, Compass, and barometer) and its L1 GNSS.
Multiple Target Capabilities
Riegl’s TLS Sensors can return multiple targets per single LiDAR beam. This allows the user to perform in-depth analysis on the pointcloud identifying where the beam split. Such information can be used for advanced pointcloud cleaning, better penetration for forestry and Carbon Capture environments and waveform analysis.
Long Range
Up to 800m range, High accuracy, high precision ranging based on echo digitization, online waveform processing, and multiple-time-around processing.
Before Removing Rain & Fog
Using the multiple returns, we’re able to remove the rain and fog from the scene leaving behind the data that really matters
After Removing Rain & Fog
Onboard Dual Processor Capability
Processor 1
- Scan data acquisition.
- Acquisition of photographs.
- Pose estimation (using GNSS/IMU/environment sensors).
Processor 2
- Conversion of scan data into RIEGL data base.
- Onboard multiple time around resolution.
- Registration of scan data as a background process.
This real-time data flow is enabled through dual processing platforms; a dedicated processing system for data acquisition, waveform processing and system operations, and a second processing platform which enables real-time data registration, georeferencing, filtering and analysis to be executed simultaneously. The VZ-400i harnesses this power by streaming it in real-time via the integrated 3G/4G/LTE modem, WiFi, Bluetooth, and Ethernet communications hardware.
With its integrated gyroscope, accelerometer, compass and barometer, the VZ-400i’s 1200kHz pulse repetition rate can be fully utilized in nearly any environment and orientation. The system enables an incredible range of flexibility by providing support for numerous external peripherals and accessories via its integrated USB Ports and stable mounting points.
