C.R. Kennedy was founded in 1934 by Clement Robertson Kennedy, importing photographic and optical products.
In 1954 we became the distributors for Asahi Pentax - the first distributor in the world for Pentax - and today the oldest.
In 1969, we entered the surveying market and steadily grew to achieve a dominant presence.
In 1975 our founder's son, Malcolm Kennedy, became Chairman and Managing Director.
Then in 2001 the company underwent a huge expansion when we were appointed sole and exclusive distributors in Australia for the Swiss based giant Leica Geosystems.
CR Kennedy has established itself as one of the largest and most successful suppliers of Leica Geosystems survey equipment in the world.
Technology and service has always been at the core of the company from the days of brass survey instruments to a world where cities can be spatially mapped from a car, a boat, an aircraft. Where machines can be controlled remotely across the world and where a grid of wireless GNSS reference stations across Australia is revolutionising survey and mapping.
C.R.Kennedy is at the forefront today, as always. We now specialises in a vast array of equipment for the survey, construction, agriculture, mapping, mining and other spatial industries.
We're the exclusive distributor for leading brands such as Leica Geosystems, Riegl, Pentax, Myzox, and many more. We're a company built on technology and service, with service centers nationwide.
There are over 100 people in our Survey Division. Product specialists and qualified surveyors who can advise on the best solutions and provide you with the very best equipment for your needs. They can discuss finance options, hire equipment and maintenance agreements.
You will have support and service from an unmatched national service network, along with tailored training opportunities at our company offices or on site.
We remain an independently owned family company and today we're the largest national importer and distributor of surveying equipment in Australia.
