Leica iCON Intelligent Construction Workshop

As a Gold Partner of the BIM MEP AUS Construction Innovation Forum for 2017, C.R. Kennedy Building Construction are proud to host an Intelligent Construction workshop on Thursday, 14th September.

All attendees of the Construction Innovation Forum are invited to attend at no additional charge. No registration is necessary.

The session will commence at 2pm (1400) and run for approximately 50min.

The workshop will cover the latest additions to Leica's Intelligent Construction portfolio and demonstrate workflows that allow for timely and accurate capture and location of building elements.

As Segment Manager, Matt leads Leica Geosystems’ sales and business strategy for the Building & Construction segment in North America for all product lines including Construction Layout and Reality Capture. Formally educated in both business and engineering, Matt began his career on the construction site, and is a veteran of the construction technology industry. Accomplishments include establishing job cost control in the cloud and advancing multiple SaaS / Cloud, mobile and BIM solutions for construction. With a BA in Accounting and Master of Civil Engineering, Matt brings a unique perspective to advancing construction technology at all levels.

Bernie graduated from RMIT with a Batchelor of Applied Science in Surveying and Land Information  before commencing at C.R. Kennedy’s technical sales and survey support. Following more than  20 years in the geospatial and survey industry, Bernie is excited to lead a dedicated team of design and construction specialists to bring Leica Building Construction solutions to the Australian market. Bernie and C.R. Kennedy have been long-time supporters of the AMCA and the Construction Innovation Forum.

Technical Sales Consultant | C.R. Kennedy Building Construction

Christopher (Chris) Johnson is the Technical Sales Consultant for C.R. Kennedy Building Construction. Chris has been involved with the Australian AEC industry for the last 2 years following his work with McCarthy Building Company based in San Francisco. During this project Chris was instrumental is the use of robotic total stations for lay-out and the use of the laser scanning technology for as-built handover. Prior to this project, Chris worked with Wood Rogers Inc responsible for construction set-out on the Mercy Medical Centre as well as a 31,000m2, $80-million printing facility. With over 15 years of construction experience, Chris supports C.R. Kennedy Building Construction clients throughout Australia with product selection, implementation and training to enable mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractors to take 3D positional data to the field digitally, increasing productivity and accuracy by improving layout processes. This efficiency results in both a reduction in labour costs and elimination of mistakes that can result in costly re-work.

A graduate with honours in architecture from UniSA, Matt has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that BIM can bring in practice. Through his work with global BIM leaders such a Lecia, Autodesk, Trimble, and Solibri, Matt is uniquely placed to identify benefits and develop strategies that leverages the potential of BIM technologies across different industries.
